Teaching Assistant (Year Student Support Mentor)
Full or Part time, term time only plus 5 teacher training days
Grade 3 £21,189-£22,369 pro rata to hours worked.

We are looking to recruit to our student support team. As a year group SSM you will liaise with the cohort’s teachers, tutors, parents, carers in a key worker role, attending meetings, overseeing student progress and acting a reporting link to staff at all levels as appropriate.
As part of our friendly and hardworking team, you would be a key worker to an identified year group, inspiring and enthusing a number of students to achieve their termly targets. The position also entails providing assistance to classroom teachers with timetabled intervention/support in a classroom setting and providing teaching cover on occasion.
You will be approachable, enthusiastic, motivated and resilient and able to support our vulnerable students as well as our most able, encouraging them to become independent learners.
This is a unique opportunity to provide specialist support utilising your skills, whilst also observing a wide range of lessons across all subjects and years. The post could suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to enter teaching, as the position would offer school-based experience prior to applying for a PGCE or School Direct opportunity.
