Tutor (Casual)

The rate of pay will be UQ4 - £20.30ph

As a result of securing funding for school led tutoring as part of the Governments Education Recovery plan, Governors of Cardinal Griffin Catholic College are seeking to appoint suitably qualified tutors to deliver tuition to small groups of up to six pupils in years 7 to 13 in English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Modern Foreign Languages (French currently at Cardinal Griffin Catholic College).

These posts are initially fixed term until 31 August 2023, with the potential to be extended subject to funding.

Applicants should be suitably qualified in their respective subject and will ideally have some previous experience working with students in this age group in a similar role. Candidates who have QTS may wish to undertake voluntary free training provided by the Education Development Trust. Candidates who do not have QTS are required to undertake the training.

The College encourages applications from those of the Catholic faith, but it is not a barrier to appointment if candidates do not have that faith background provided they support the ethos of the College. We are extremely proud of our ethos which comes in very large part from our Jesuit Associate School membership and Catholic Diocesan heritage. This teaches us to be grateful for the gift of teaching that we have and to be generous in using it for the good of our pupils.

Closing date for applications is: Friday 9th December 2022, at 9am.

The College reserves the right to close this post prior to the published deadline should it receive sufficient applications to pull together a good field of candidates. We therefore encourage candidates to submit early applications.

We welcome further discussions about the post and these can be conducted using a variety of online platforms or by telephone. Please make contact with us to discuss this if it will be helpful to you.
