Coleg Sir Gar is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidate to join the Faculty of Computing and Engineering Technologies as a Technician in Motor Vehicle.

The Faculty of Computing and Engineering Technologies delivers a diverse range of programmes on the Graig campus based around mechanical, electrical/electronic engineering, fabrication & welding and computing with motor vehicle training taking place at Pibwrlwyd Campus, Carmarthen. The Motor Vehicle workshops are modern and well equipped, having had significant investment in recent years, with a number of new cars, diagnostic equipment and training rigs to support students and apprentices, as well as an ever increasing commercial provision, supporting local and national garages. The provision ranges from school link 14-19 provision up to and including level four programmes. Full time learners follow level 1, 2 & 3 courses and apprentices follow day release level 2, 3 & 4 courses in light vehicle and HGV. A range of short courses are offered to garages across the area and include MOT, air con, diagnostics, hybrid and electric car training.

This post has arisen due to an increased demand in short course delivery, meeting the demands of industry training, especially electric/hybrid vehicle training up to level 4. The main purpose of the post is to support practical workshop sessions, prepare workshops for activities and assessments and maintain equipment and stores, working with an existing technician to ensure the smooth running of the workshops.
