The Role

The school is seeking to appoint a full-time Teacher of Economics from 1st January 2023 or 17th April 2023 to teach bright and enthusiastic pupils Economics at A Level. The role would also include helping pupils to prepare for university applications in Economics and related subjects and involvement in the financial and enterprise strands of Lilium (PSHCE) for pupils in Years 7 to 11. The role would be suitable for an experienced teacher, an Early Career Teacher (ECT), or someone without a teaching qualification, who might be interested in pursuing the School’s Waynflete Teaching Certificate, which can lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a well-qualified graduate who is looking to teach in a highly successful Economics department. They will be prepared to have majority Sixth Form timetable, but also be enthusiastic about the subject as a whole, keen to inspire and engage with younger pupils and excited by the academic stretch and challenge on offer at MCS. The Teacher of Economics will report to the Head of Economics, and ultimately to the Master for the proper discharge of their duties. In a lively day school, a willingness to contribute to other areas of school life, whether in the pastoral system, in games, music, drama, CCF or other activities, is always advantageous.
