We are excited to be advertising for a Teacher of D&T Food Preparation & Nutrition Teacher to secure progress for our students through the provision of high quality teaching and learning.

This is a critical appointment and would suit a professional who is ambitious for all students, committed to inclusion as well as continual professional development of our staff.

What we are looking for:

• An enthusiastic teacher with a passion for Food Preparation & Nutrition

• Someone with a good understanding of relevant curriculum areas, including a good understanding of assessment and monitoring procedures.

• Experience of teaching or teaching practice of Food Preparation & Nutrition at all Key Stages.

• A willingness to learn and apply new techniques that contribute to high quality teaching and learning.

• A teacher who expects and demonstrates the highest standards.

• A teacher who can enthuse a range of students with varying needs.

• Looking for someone to join our innovative and energetic Department

• Committed to providing professional development for staff members.

• We are an expanding department and have recently had two new food rooms. Along with additional workshop and textile areas.

• We are looking for someone who is capable and able to teach our new Level 3 Food Science Diploma.

• We are committed to STEM and offer many cross curricular opportunities for students and teachers.

• Food Preparation & Nutrition enjoys a high profile in our school and is a very popular subject. Our commitment is demonstrated by the variety of additional activities.

• We are a Rotary Young Chef host venue. We entered the Tunnocks Teacake challenge for the first-time last year and had 2 entries make it into the publication. We also plan to enter the Ocado Foundation’s Young Pea Chef.

• We have hosted healthy Chinese Cookery workshops provided by the Chinese Embassy in London, as part of our Enrichment week.

• We have also taken part in the Taste of Game “Game Changers” programme which has given our students the opportunity to prepare and cook pheasant and learn about foods they would not ordinarily have an opportunity to experience.
