Location: Bedminster Down School (near Bristol)
Contract: 32 hours per week. Term time only, plus two inset days.

Bedminster Down School is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join a dynamic pastoral team that thrives on supporting young people. Bedminster Down School is rated as good by Ofsted and our large support staff team play a vital role in ensuring that the wider needs of our students are catered for as effectively as possible.
As a Student Welfare Officer you will be the first port of call for providing First Aid to students. You will also support with the creation and maintenance of Individual Health Care Plans for students with specific medical needs, to ensure their individual needs are safely and effectively provided for while they are in school. As a member of the wider pastoral team, you will also play a key role in safeguarding young people. You will work to signpost students to appropriate support (both inside and outside of school) and liaise regularly with the school’s Pastoral Support Workers and the Assistant Principal responsible for Student Support.
The ideal candidate for this post will have a keen interest in working with young people and may have first aid or school-based experience from previous employment. Most of all though, you will have a desire to learn and a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will be provided with a range of support and training, including any necessary qualifications, to ensure you can fulfill the duties of the post well.
