We have a fantastic opportunity for an insightful, experienced and highly organised SEND professional to join our Learning Development Team and lead a team of highly motivated and passionate Learning Support Assistants. This role has the potential to make a significant contribution to experience students have at the college.

You will be responsible for ensuring the team provides a service of the highest standards which improves learning outcomes for our students with a development need. This includes co-ordinating appropriate provision for all students with EHCPs, additional educational needs and liaising with and attending meetings with colleagues, parents/carers and outside agencies for students.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a commitment for inclusion, a passion for overcoming barriers to learning and a belief that through working with our students we can support them to reach their very best potential. Organisational skills and the ability to effectively communicate are essential as you will be supporting a complex caseload of students and also monitoring the caseload within the team.

Knowledge of SEND and the legal framework and previous experience of working with students with SEND is essential as is the ability to produce, track and monitor data relating to them. You need to be able to deal with students, parents and outside agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner.

You will be pro-active, naturally collaborative and an excellent communicator with a successful track record of leading teams to enable them to deliver and develop impactful service. You will also have the confidence to deal with a whole range of pastoral issues and the ability to take the lead and show initiative when required. You must have a passion for working with young people and the ability to support them, showing care and attention, providing a listening ear and the ability to act accordingly in a variety of sensitive circumstances. You need to be an emotionally resilient person with a good understanding of the role and responsibility around safeguarding.
