The provision at Weston College for learners with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) leads the field and is pro-active in informing the sector, sharing good practice and developing innovative practice for learners. This specialist provision offers a wide range of inspiring and high-quality personalised programmes for learners who have previously had difficulties in engaging with education and have experienced a wide range of barriers to their learning from entry level to degree level.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join the Faculty of Inclusive Practice in a high-profile management role developing and co-ordinating commissioned projects and new initiatives through effective collaboration across the college, with our local partners and FE community.
The person appointed will provide exemplary leadership skills, developing a progressive and dynamic area that focusing on the delivery of our National Centre for Excellence in SEND and will be required to manage this high profile college project, achieving the ambitious KPI set by the Education Training Foundation in building a national Community of Practice that provide a platform for sharing best practice and collaboration to improve practice and ensure inclusivity is echoed throughout the organisation.
Knowledge of the SEND Reforms and funding methodologies is essential as is the ability to lead this projects of national initiatives and high quality teaching, learning and assessment. Working in partnership will be an essential part of the role with collaboration with curriculum teams, SEND specialists, business support areas and external partners to upskill the SEND workforce.
This post carries a teaching commitment within the delivery of the SEND training and Professional development programmes. As post-holder, you will be a representative of the Faculty Management Team (FMT) and the College Middle Management Team (MMT).
