West Hill is an incredibly special place to be. We are a newly formed school supporting children with a range of additional needs at primary level. All our children have additional needs and an Education, Health and Care Plan to support their learning.
Start Date: 1st January 2023
We have some exciting opportunities for passionate, dedicated, and innovative people to come and teach with us as an Unqualified SEN Teacher and join our team at West Hill School. This would suit someone who has previous experience working in educational settings, have led clubs or who is embarking upon a wider career with children e.g. social work, speech and language therapist. You will be degree educated and will be critical in teaching and helping our children to ACHIEVE as much as they possible can and FLOURISH in adult life. If you have prior experience this does not need to be from a special school and we welcome and support staff that may have experience in mainstream settings.
As a primary only setting our Governing Body wishes to recruit exceptional staff that are confident and enthusiastic about helping children to learn well. Our primary children work at least 3-4 years away from age-related expectations and all pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan covering a range of complex learning difficulties, including speech and language difficulties, autism and/or medical needs. Our models of learning mean that our children are based in mixed aged groups of 10-12 children.
