SEN Tutor, Prep School

Notre Dame School is an outstanding independent school in Cobham.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to join our Learning Support Department as a self employed SEN tutor. 

As part of this Department, you will deliver one-to-one tuition to pupils diagnosed as needing extra support in literacy or Maths. You will initially have between 4 and 6 children on your register but as the academic year progresses this number may rise. You will be required for 1 day per week but this may grow to 2 days.  

You will: 

• Provide teaching and support for students with special educational needs
• Monitor the progress of students identified with SpLD, either by the class teacher or SENCO or by an educational psychologist.
• Liaise with parents and staff over special educational needs provision
• Have a qualification in SpLD, either Level 5 or 7
• Have previous experience as a SEN Tutor
• Have a knowledge of a range of teaching strategies to support pupils with learning needs
• Have a good level of oral and written communication skills internally and externally
