We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and friendly nursery practitioner to join our nursery team at Westfield Primary School. The role will be working as a SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant, 20 hours per week Monday to Friday. 8.45 am – 12.45pm.

The post is initially fixed term until 31st August 2024

The successful candidate will:

  • Support a pupil's learning, either in a group or through 1:1 work. The exact tasks will depend on the learning support needs of the pupil
  • Preferably have some experience of working with SEND children
  • Support pupil's self-esteem, inclusion and behavioural development

The successful candidate will also be fulfilling all aspects of a key worker role, and our children would like them to:

  • Use gentle hands, gentle feet and gentle voices 
  • Sing songs and tell funny stories
  • Help me put on my shoes 
  • Come and play

As part of the EYFS team, you will need experience of the following:

  • Hold a minimum of a level 3 qualification and have experience of working in a nursery setting.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Have experience of working with two year olds and upwards and be able to lead fun and child-centred learning for this age group.
  • Join in with child-initiated play and plan activities and experiences to help the children develop.
  •  Follow school policies.
  • Form positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, staff and parents.
  • Enjoy the unpredictable nature of working with early years children.
