Are you motivated by knowing the things you do well will make a difference to young people? If so, we could have just the job for you!

We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to support our Maths faculty; this role is known as a Maths Student Support Mentor (SSM) at Caludon. You would be a key worker, working closely with the Maths faculty, inspiring and enthusing students to achieve their termly targets in Maths.

You will need a real passion for Maths and have already worked in a professional capacity with young people so that you will have an affinity for how to plan literacy sessions for both our most vulnerable students and one group of up to 20 students.

You will be approachable, enthusiastic, motivated, resilient, and able to support our students encouraging them to become independent learners.

This is a unique opportunity to provide specialist Maths support utilising your skills, to be involved in faculty meetings, whilst also observing high quality teaching when you assist in the classroom. If you are looking to enter teaching, this position would offer invaluable school-based experience prior to applying for a PGCE or School Direct opportunity in Maths.
