Lecturer in Art – 0.8 FTE

Where you’ll work: This role is based at the College’s Dartford campus.

Your hours: 29.6 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.

Your pay: Spine Points 32 £24,224 pro rata (£30,280 full time equivalent) to 37 £28,083.20 pro rata (£35,104 full time equivalent), rising to a ceiling of Spine Point 39 £29,800.80 pro rata (£37,251 full time equivalent) with a full teaching qualification.

Working within North Kent College’s Art curriculum area, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitability qualified, experienced and passionate individual to join the team as a Lecturer in Art.

You’ll be required to prepare, teach and assess at a variety of qualification levels, providing support and guidance to your learners as they progress through their studies.

You’ll have specialist knowledge of the curriculum area, which may be enhanced by any relevant industry / professional experience, as well as a formal qualification that underpins this knowledge.

We need you to be a team player and an excellent communicator, able to maintain a proactive approach and an eye for detail whilst working to challenging deadlines.

Teaching experience, particularly within Further Education, would be advantageous but isn’t essential. Likewise, although a full teaching qualification (at Level 5 or above) isn’t required at this stage, you would need to secure this within 3 years of appointment.

In return, we’ll give you 42 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time contracts), and you’ll be enrolled onto the Teachers’ Pension Scheme which also includes life assurance. You’ll also benefit from free parking and have access to a range of onsite facilities including a nursery (Dartford and Gravesend campuses), restaurants and coffee shops.
