About the role:

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Barbering Lecturer to further the development of the Hair & Beauty Team. You will develop and teach high-quality barbering courses to the local community within our Academy training facility.

This role is suitable for anyone that is currently in industry and wants to develop their skills for teaching.

In this role, you will:

  • To deliver high quality teaching and learning by providing students with a planned learning experience, managing the learning process, guiding and supporting learners.
  • To provide assignment and assessment material appropriate to each specific programme.
  • To ensure effective co-ordination of curriculum involvement in all college activities as appropriate
  • To evaluate and assess the work of students in relation to the curriculum criteria.
  • To produce schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with current best practice.
  • To set and assess work and provide opportunities for student feedback.

Qualification and experience required:

  • Teaching qualification at Level 5 e.g. Certificate in Education, or commitment to gaining within the timescales laid out by the college
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in related field
  • Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Some experience of teaching, training peers or transferring skills to others, e.g. training, coaching, mentoring
  • Significant and recent work with learners in a relevant context
  • An understanding of current developments in related field
