Job Role:
As an IT Officer, you will assist in the Installation, upgrading and maintenance of all computer hardware, software and related peripheral equipment to the highest possible standard ensuring all computers and peripherals are working correctly.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintaining, troubleshooting and logging of disk, tape and cloud back-ups of IT systems following college backup procedures.
Create and maintain Active Directory user accounts and mailboxes.
Assist the senior IT team with the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the college wide server, network and communication infrastructure.
Responsible for ensuring, ensuring all computers are up to date with anti-virus software, security patches and compliant.
Provide technical support and feedback to end-users by ensuring helpdesk requests are dealt with promptly, appropriately and in order of importance.
Provide technical advice on the ordering of hardware for computer maintenance in collaboration with the lT Support and ILT teams.
Provide staff with basic training / guidance as and when required on the use of any of the equipment.
Security of computers, printers and peripherals, maintaining a list of equipment and serial numbers (including the updating of the fixed asset register).
Control and maintain consumable stock and supplies inclusive of placing orders on the college finance system.
Liaising with suppliers, external maintenance/support contractors inclusive of logging supports call for hardware/software problems.
This post requires the applicant to work individually to make decisions and take responsibility for their own work.
All other reasonable duties as agreed to with line manager.
