Bedminster Down School is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join a dynamic Special Educational Needs Team that thrives on supporting young people. Bedminster Down School is rated as good by Ofsted and our large support staff team play a vital role in ensuring that the wider needs of our students are catered for as effectively as possible.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for Literacy you will provide support to students in school who need additional help to read, write and speak with the same level of confidence as their peers. To ensure our package of support for our most vulnerable young people is having the very greatest impact, you will liaise effectively with the other staff teams who will be working with your students on their wider needs, including the attendance, behaviour and pastoral teams.
The ideal candidate for this post will be a qualified higher level teaching assistant, or be working towards HLTA status. They will have a range of experiences from previous employment of working with young people – particularly students with special educational needs. Most of all though, you will be patient, caring and have a ‘can-do’ attitude.
