Head of SEN/D

 Up to £ £37,627p.a actual salary, term time only (40 weeks per year)

We are looking to appoint an insightful, experienced and highly organised SEN/D professional to lead our Learning Support Team. This role can make a significant contribution to the experience students have at the college. The Learning Support team comprises co-ordinators, mentors, departmental LSAs and in class support as well as specialist tutors and the College nurse.

Knowledge of SEN/D and the legal framework and previous experience of working with students with SEN/D is essential as is the ability to produce, track and monitor data relating to them. You need to be able to deal with students, parents, colleagues and outside agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner.

You will be responsible for ensuring the team provides a high quality service which improves learning outcomes for students with learning needs. This includes co-ordinating appropriate provision for all students with EHCPs, additional educational needs and liaising with and attending meetings with colleagues, parents/carers and outside agencies for students. You will also be identifying those students who may require high needs funding and corresponding with Local Authorities and/or other funding agencies in this respect.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a highly organised SEN/D professional, have a commitment to young people and want to put in place the best possible support to enable them to reach their very best potential. Organisational skills and the ability to effectively communicate are essential as you will be working with a complex caseload of students and also monitoring the workload within the team.

This role is employed through Nescot Enterprises Ltd, a whole owned subsidiary of Nescot which operates different terms and conditions.
