London South East College is looking for highly motivated individual to maintain the work in the Hair and Beauty department across campuses to support learner achievement.

The role of the Hair and Beauty facilitator is a key role in the department with the maintenance of the teaching areas this role is vital to learner success.

The successful candidate will work flexibly across the campuses to prepare and maintain equipment and resources for classes and teachers.

The successful candidate will oversee the safe storage of all resources as well as contributing to the achievement of learners.

The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the quality of customer services within the department.

The successful candidate will provide advice on technical issues and be responsible for practical demonstrations to small groups of students as well as assess learners within their vocational qualification and in the reception/Display stock area.

Those appointed will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will ensure a safe and well-maintained working environment by regularly updating Risk and COSHH assessments.


  • Facilitators will be responsible for the teaching, assessment, monitoring of learner of learner progress and achievement within the reception and display areas.
  • Facilitators will be responsible for the planning of resources including the development of E-learning resources, lesson plans, Scheme of work for Reception and display stock to ensure learner achievement.
  • The Facilitators will be required to complete and supervise financial transactions with our clients along with cashing up and reconciling the income at the end of the day.
  • To prepare, maintain and store materials, consumables, equipment and facilities in readiness for classes and practical activities to meet H&S guidelines.
  • Ensure the facilitates of the department are maintained and are secure at all times.
  • Ensure all displays are current and up to date at all times.
  • Support and assister the lecturers with learner behaviour ensuring learners follow department values for the 3R’s (Ready, Responsible, and respectful) at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records for clients and facilities.
  • To help devise practical activities when required to assess suitability for student use.
  • To maintain a good level of general hygiene and Health and safety in practical teaching environments ensuring all COSHH and Risk assessments are updated regularly.
  • To cost materials, ensuring best value for money and take lead in ordering materials under the direction and control of the Salon and learning manager.
  • To be responsible for stock control of materials, tools and equipment.
  • To guide support and mentor the work and learning of Apprentice facilitators.
  • Be prepared to undertake cover requirements to assist the department where necessary (across campus).
  • Promote and maintain the department’s dress code
