Job Role:

The post holder will be part of the Futures Team supporting entrepreneurship, employability,

skills and Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). The role is to coordinate and

support learners with enterprise skills necessary for successful employment and career

development. In addition, the post holder will ensure that learners’ employability and

enterprise skills are recognised by participation in internal and external skills competitions.

Key Duties:

  • Provide support to learners who inspire to be young entrepreneurs in starting their own business. Provide one-to-one business support, entrepreneur mentoring and financial support
  • both internally and externally from partnership organisations.
  • Meet targets set by Welsh Government to engage, empower, equip and enable learners to become self-employed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Futures team to support the development of students’ employability skills through CV development, networking opportunities.
  • Produce Welsh Government and internal monthly reports to document activities that have been undertaken and show the number of learners who have participated in entrepreneurial
  • activities.
  • Act as the main contact for enterprise and skills competitions and liaise with faculty, campus and curriculum managers to develop and integrate enterprise activities and arrange
  • internal/external skills competitions.
  • Develop and promote, in partnership with others, curriculum resources for enterprise activities.
  • Establish vibrant enterprise and skills hubs on each campus. The hubs will ensure learners are aware of all opportunities available to them and will replicate good practice evident in
  • universities.
  • Ensure staff are aware of the enterprise resources available and promote/encourage opportunities for sharing good practice across the college and sector.
  • Explore funding opportunities to support student/staff involvement in the above initiatives.
  • Ensure that quality assurance processes are robust and meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the college marketing team on the promotion of the Futures team.
  • Attend relevant network meetings .
  • Any other duties which may be required, appropriate to the grade.
