At Charlton Wood Primary, we teach for mastery through explicit instruction across our curriculum. As we enter our 4th year of growth, our approach to teaching and learning is now well embedded across the school and is consistently leading to high standards of achievement for our pupils. In order to support you to deliver our pedagogical approach, we offer a comprehensive professional development package based in evidence informed research using an instructional coaching model so that you can be successful in your career.

This role is a cover teacher position covering regular leadership time for the AHT and SENDCO – predominately in EYFS and KS1. This is an exciting opportunity for you to work alongside senior leaders in school and therefore receive high quality professional develop in our approach to teaching and learning.

Although this is initially a MAT Leave position as a growing school we advertise for our next cohort of teachers each year so this has the potential to develop into a permanent role.

In addition to meeting the teachers’ standards, we are specifically looking for someone who:

  • is passionate about teaching and learning and knows there is always more to learn in order in order to become the most effective teacher you can be
  • is reflective about their own teaching - using evidence informed research to develop their craft
  • embraces a mastery approach to teaching and learning in all subject areas
  • wants to work with, and learn from, other teachers and leaders in our school and the Trust that we belong to
  • is willing to go the extra mile for our pupils and their families
