1 Purpose of Job
To generate business income through employer responsive including mainstream and full cost activities. To identify and develop new business opportunities in liaison with the curriculum areas, industry placement and work placement advisors and the marketing department. To build a network of customers to increase the client base and to secure Darlington College as first choice provider for training to employers.
This job will also involve identifying business opportunities and promoting Business Development’s expertise in meeting those needs through responsive and flexible solutions.
Performance Management – to ensure compliance to a system of performance management using group targets and benchmarking (to be agreed) relevant to the role.
2 Core Tasks
2.1 Contribute to the Employer Responsive Strategy for Darlington College.
2.2 Achieve agreed performance targets relating to the recruitment of apprentices in priority sectors, and other programmes offered as agreed with line manager.
2.3 Understand the range and portfolio of provision, particularly relating to Apprenticeships and Full Cost provision and effectively promote the benefits to employers.
2.4 Respond promptly, within 24 hours, to all leads received from the Business enquiry line.
2.5 Source and prospect new employers in priority sectors.
2.6 Work with employers to determine organisational needs and offer high quality training solutions.
2.7 Complete ONA as directed by line manager and record business impact and destination data. Contribute to monthly pipeline data to ensure good forecasting.
2.8 Ensure business relationships are maintained and repeat business secured.
2.9 Check eligibility of Apprentices/Students for funded qualifications.
2.10 Update relevant systems to show activity with employers.
2.11 Prepare summaries of sales activity and achievement of targets.
2.12 Work closely with Curriculum and Registry to ensure all arrangements regarding the contract and delivery are fully understood, planned and in place.
2.13 Share naturally occurring Labour Market Information with Marketing and Engagement Manager.
2.14 Use the Find an Apprenticeship service to recruit eligible Apprentices.
2.15 Attend conferences and events as and when required
