Boost Mentor
Teaching & Learning Department
Variable Hours contract
£12.77 per hour
Are you looking for a job that is both interesting and worthwhile? Do you want to make a difference and contribute to transforming lives?
An exciting opportunity for a BOOST Mentor has arisen to give additional support to our students at this critical time in their education. Government funding through the 16-19 Tuition Fund has been provided to FE Colleges to support students in this academic year who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We know our students have been affected by the pandemic and lockdowns, yet we cannot allow this to disadvantage them academically. As an Achievement BOOST Mentor, you would play a vital role in supporting our students’ achievement in their main qualifications and contributing to them progressing to university, employment and promising futures.
Candidates will support students in English and Maths and provide support to learners in small group sizes of up to 5 learners.
The BOOST Mentor will work with students to establish what they need to achieve and how to develop their skills and attitudes to be successful. You will help them identify their needs and set targets, then work with them to make progress on these targets to help them achieve their qualifications, supported by our Curriculum Teams. Where possible, we will match subject specialisms. You should be competent and confident in the skills needed to be a successful student, be able to quickly build rapport with students, use a variety of assessment techniques and keep accurate records of attendance and progress.
The role is variable hours and a range of hours are available, up to full-time, Monday to Friday. If you have the drive, skills, abilities and qualities to make a real difference then we would like to hear from you.
