Derby is a national hub of engineering excellence, and we are recruiting two engineering industry specialists to join our team of Assessors at Rolls Royce. Here at Derby College, we encourage all staff to provide students with a great range of learning opportunities.

You will undertake work-based assessments, supporting the young engineers of the future within a variety of settings, ensuring achievement of agreed performance and quality targets. You will maintain above average success rates in all areas, using innovation within your assessing and utilising e-learning opportunities where appropriate.

The successful candidates will have experience of providing outstanding support for apprentices and will be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated to apprentice achievement and quality. Training and assessing experience within engineering apprenticeships is essential. A background in electrical engineering would be desirable.

We are looking for someone who can bring not just industry knowledge and experience, but who can impart life skills and teach the apprentices to be effective and invaluable members of their workforce.

Examples of benefits you’ll have access to as a Derby College employee include access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, CPD opportunities, discounts at selected retailers, free eyecare tests and discounted rail travel.

The successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
