This exciting new post provides an excellent opportunity for an outstanding practitioner wanting to progress into leadership within a forward-thinking and ambitious Maths team. The purpose of this role is to support the leadership and management of a thriving KS5 offer as well as responsibility for the attainment, progress and experiences of High prior attaining students in mathematics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- support the Head of Maths to develop and implement policies and practices for Maths which reflect the school’s commitment to high achievement and effective teaching and learning
- work with Head of Maths on the development of appropriate syllabuses, assessment and teaching and learning strategies for the development and resourcing of Maths
- promote teamwork, creating a climate which enables other staff to develop
- use data effectively in Maths to monitor and secure student outcomes for Maths at KS5 and for students who are High prior attaining (HPA)
- support curriculum development for the department in line with national initiatives
