Senior Caretaker, Permanent Contract - Cardiff 

St. David’s College is a popular and over-subscribed Sixth Form College, providing high quality education for 16-19 year olds within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. In our 2019 Estyn inspection, we achieved an ‘excellent’ grade in Inspection Area 1: Standards, and in Inspection Area 5: Leadership and Management.

We are looking for an experienced handyman / caretaker who has good general maintenance experience. Ensuring a safe working environment for staff and students.

We are looking for a dependable, self motivated applicants who like to keep busy. St Davids is a supportive and friendly environment and we are keen to welcome new employees who can combine working flexibly, prioritising a busy workload and using initiative. People skills are as essential to this role as practical caretaking skills.

The successful candidate will be required to work independently using initiative and as part of a team. You will be able to communicate clearly with and relate positively to all members of staff. The college opening hours are 7:00 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and caretakers are required to work a combination of early (7:00 to 3:00) and late shifts (12:00 to 8:00). There will also be occasional Sunday and late evening work.

You will require knowledge of Health & Safety at work and ability to recognise the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment. A driving licence is essential for this role as is the ability to use Microsoft Office.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this position.

The position is full time, permanent. It attracts a salary range of £24,075.86 – £26,397.07 dependant on experience.
