Position: Careers Advisor – Level 6

Salary: £26,878.43 to £30,246.11 per annum

Hours/Contract: 37 per week/ part time hours will also be considered

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: The post holder will be required to work flexibly across all campuses, according to department needs

Brooklands College is a Further Education College with two campuses based in Weybridge and Ashford. We pride ourselves on providing innovative and effective programmes for learners of all abilities.

We are looking for an individual to work within the Careers Team to provide high quality impartial advice and guidance to students.

You must have effective communication and organisational skills. Excellent customer care skills with the ability to relate to young people/students and people at all levels in the organisation and outside in a confident, persuasive and sensitive manner.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Level 6 Careers Advisor with experience of:

  • Delivering 1-2-1 and group guidance sessions
  • UCAS and related processes
  • Managing relationships with Employers and Universities
  • Gatsby Benchmarks
  • Working internally with curriculum, work placement, marketing and student services teams

The successful candidate will be:

  • An enthusiastic team member who is flexible and willing to work on both college campuses and in employer workplaces.
  • Collaborative
  • Able to manage workload and time with strong attention to detail
  • Able to communicate & present to under 16s, 16-18-year olds and adult learners.
  • Keen to contribute ideas to drive performance, continuous improvement and future strategy
